Toby was abandoned ending up in the Casino pound.
When ARRG rescued him they discovered he was deaf, he was also
old. We asked ourselves. 'How could someone do this to their old
dog?'
When taken into care, ARRG had Toby's hearing checked by one
of the fantastic vets who help us. It appeared he could 'just'
hear. We knew it would be hard to place Toby because of his age,
disability and he didn't respond to many people. He just didn't
like many people.
ARRG contacted Don one of our wonderful carers who takes disabled,
aged, problem animals and asked if Toby could join his 'retirement
group'. Don was happy to take this dear old complex dog into care.
Toby has now found a permanent home with with Don and his other
elderly dogs. Each day they go for walks and can sleep wherever
they want to, in Don's house.
We still ask 'how can owners like Toby's do this, dump their
pets, to be put to sleep by the pound?'
They don't even know that Toby wasn't killed by the pound and
that Toby was rescued by ARRG, we ask 'would they even care'?
More importantly, now Toby has been given a second chance, and
will be able to live the rest of his life in comfort and ease,
wanted and loved by Don.
