ARRG URGENTLY NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Update cat rescue case Jan 2005.

Orignal Story
Update 01

These are two of the remaining cats from 'The Siamese Rescue Cats'.

These two Siamese/Oriental 'Silver Smoke' cats are doing so well they are now happy and healthy and are so attractive. One male and female they are very affectionate with their carer, although they are still shy with strangers.

They are about 18 months in age and get on so well with each other we are hoping to find a home for them together. They are now vaccinated and desexed and play so well together.

ARRG has now re-homed over twelve of the seventeen cats rescued from pitiful conditions. Can you give a home to these two pretty and very intelligent cats?

The adult Lilac point female in the group was looking very well but was still a little shy and distracted, ARRG volunteers noticed she was very distressed in her pen and although she was very poor at first she had put on quite a lot of weight.

When feeding her last week Barbara noticed she was especially restless and her instinct told her that Lilac was pregnant and the extra weight while minimal could be kittens. Lilac gave birth to two lovely healthy all black kittens only days later at the foster carers home, so we have now two more lovely siamese kittens (photos to come of mum and kittens).

These two kittens will never know the suffering and stress that their mother cat and the other rescue cats have been through as they will receive the best care from our foster carer and of course will accept people as great friends not enemies.

To date we have re-homed all the six kittens and six adults into the most wonderful homes. The caring people who adopted these kittens and cats called from as far away as Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast and transport was arranged with our dedicated volunteer drivers.

ARRG has another four cats to rescue that were left at the address but not in cages and we have a feed and rescue program in place to catch these cats and bring them into care and so the Siamese cat rescue is ongoing.

The last four cats will need care and time to adjust and we are confident that they will also respond and will be ready for adopting in the near future.

We will continue updates on these cats and will report on the Lilac's progress with her two kittens and the further rescue of the four cats at large and their progress.

ARRG would like to thank all the caring people who have responded to this Siamese rescue case, we at ARRG have spent hours on the phone talking to the wonderful people who love and know Siamese and oriental cats and we have heard wonderful stories from the callers, and have learnt so much about this amazing cat breed.

We have felt so supported through the whole rescue process. We thank you for caring about animals and for any donations sent to help ARRG with the vet costs of this rescue case.

We look forward to further offers of homes and donations as we continue to rescue and re-home the 'Siamese Rescue Cats'.
