'A BOLT FROM THE BLUE'

ARRG recently received a 'bolt from the blue'.

Dear Ms Steffersen,

A bolt from the Blue from Victoria:

I am pleased to advise that I have approved a special grant of $5,000.00 to AARG for the construction of your new shelter.

My congratulations to you personally for your indefatigable efforts for the animals in your area. Please convey my thanks and admiration to Suzzanne Lavis, Vicki Skinner and all your other volunteers as well. Please also pass on my thanks to Lindsay Walker from the Lismore Council and Mark Smith from "Running Dog" for the roles they played in making your initiative possible. I trust that Lindsay has arranged a "peppercorn" deal? Please forward this e-mail to them.

I am confident that ARRG will become the prototype for intelligent animal rescue, rehab and rights in NSW, in no small measure due to your efforts. You, like many others, are filling the major gaps left by the RSPCA and are doing it with more energy and less money. You are doing in Australia what my groups are doing in many other countries - leading on the front foot - with equal vigour. More power to you.

Please continue to do all you can to rid this country of the pernicious pet shop industry, the animal factories, and the hunting industry. The animals of NSW need people like you, Mark Pearson and Clover Moore.

If you send me your bank account details I will remit the funds to you immediately. Should you wish to contact me, my telephone number in Melbourne is below.

Kindest regards,

Phil
