BRANDY, 7 years old female Staffie x Brandy was one of three puppies dumped in the bush at Jiggi left to survive on their own for months, but luckily found and caught by a caring person. The puppies were about 5 months and very timid and in a very poor condition when found and ARRG was called to help and they came into care. Baxter and Tigga her siblings eventually found caring and understanding homes and they settled well. But Brandy never fully recovered from the abuse and is still timid with strangers and has lived with her carer for 6 years. Brandy is a very happy and cuddly girl with her foster carers but shies away from strangers but is never aggresive. It would take a very special committed person willing to meet Brandy a number of times to build her trust before an adoption could happen, but we live in hope. Brandy is a very pretty small to medium size girl with short tan hair and is a gentle girl and great with other pets. Ideally her special home will have another dog for company and playtime or a stay at home person/family with lots of time to excercise and care for her for the whole of her life is required by ARRG. Brandy will only be adopted if all her needs are met and her future is secured or she will live her life safely with ARRG.

SUKI, 5 year old female 99% Staffie Suki was rescued by ARRG from the Lismore pound when no-one claimed her and her time was up. She is a pretty dark brown girl and almost pure bred staffie in size and with short hair. Suki was shy at first & defensive with dogs but loved cuddles & attention and just wanted to please but needed work and training to get adopted. With the help of her new foster carer Pam, Suki has received lots of training in the last few months and has responded so well, Suki is very smart and is now obedient to commands inside and out. She has been socialised with other dogs and gets on well with most dogs and Suki would be the best companion, mate and security dog you could have as she just wants to please her humans. Ideally a home with another dog for company and playtime or a stay at home person/family with an active life style with lots of time to excercise and care for Suki for the whole of her life is required by ARRG.

LANI, 2 year old female Sharpeii Lani was eventually rescued by a caring person after months of calls about her neglect. This caring person called ARRG for help to provide vet treatment for this dogs long term neglect. Many people have called RSPCA about the neglect of this Nimbin dog but no action was taken. Lani is suffering from a skin problem that many Sharpeii dog have and they need a loving home to provide the care. Lani has been neglected for many months and the condtion has left her with severe loss of hair over much of her body, Lani has had many litters while with this uncaring people and her puppies most likely with have the same condition. Because the RSPCA and our prevention of cruelty laws don't work, Lani's neglect and her breeding has gone unchecked. Lani is now in ARRG care and getting all the treatment she needs, but because her skin condition has been untreated she may never fully recover and the hair may never grow back. Lani has a lovely nature and her foster carer is doing all the washes she needs, Lani is receiving injections to reduce the inflamation and infection on her skin. Lani will need many months of treatment to help her recover and get some relief from her skin condition. What would Lani have suffered if our volunteer had not rescued her? she was suffering bleeding sores when people called RSPCA but still they didn't save her. Lani will be available for adoption once her condition has been improved. Lani is a gorgeous girl and gets on with other animals so if you would like to adopt Lani please call us and as soon as she is healed a new home will be needed.

GRACE, 4 month old female terrier x UPDATE NEWS OF GRACE: Following her appointment at the Eye Hospital on Thursday sadly Grace is blind and will not regain her sight! Grace now needs an operation to reduce the pain and heal her eyes and but will never see. If you could find it in your heart to proved a life time home for this puppy or make a donation toward her operation we would so thankfully. Grace was dumped & found wandering on the roadside near Casino and was picked up by the ranger. Grace is a 4 month terrier x and is suffering from neglected eye condition that has caused her to lose her sight from ulceration of her eyes. She is now in care and will be taken to the eye hospital on the Gold Coast on Thursday. The local vet who examined her said she may be able togain her sight in one eye with treatment. What kind of evil person could have dumped her and left her for dead. Grace will be in care for a while until she recovers from her treatment or surgery. If you would like to help by making a donation toward her vet bill we would really appreciate it.
